Jennifer Guitard M.A., RCC #8092

Over the last decade of practice what has come to stand out to me as the heart of counselling is a sense of safety, trust and hope. These values are at the core of what I believe and how I practice. It is my goal that every client would know that they are valued and safe in our relationship and that we will work together to create the health and healing they are looking for.

I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology at Trinity Western University and have since that time worked with non-profit counselling agencies, the Minsitry of Children and Families, Fraser Health, as well as my private practice through Renewal Counselling Service. Most recently my work has included supervising a practicum team of M.A. students thru Trinity Western University.

The areas of specialized training that I have focused on include trauma, attachment, family systems and substance misuse. I have completed training in Observed Experiential Integration (2009), Motivational Interviewing (2011), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (2013), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (2014) and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (2016). These modalities allow for the delicate balance of attuned presence and focus for a persons unique journey while incorporating change and practical skills that so many seek.

It is my wish that when you enter the counselling process that you will discover hope and healing because life is worth living and through meaningful connection we can overcome great pain.
